Tri-Lingual Real Estate Site

January 25, 2006

Bachata Properties offers commerical and residential properties in Dominican Republic and we have recently completed a rather nice tri-lingual website and content management system for them.

The gap between the last entry in December and today is sadly not because we were researching the Dominican Republic property market. No, it was because of a virus that wiped all the bookmarks off Firefox including the link I use to update the blog.

So what's hot about Bachata Properties?

I am pretty proud of it - the design (by Stewart Curry) is gorgeous, evocative of the sun-drenched colours of the Caribbean. The navigation is tidy - you can easily find property to buy, to rent, or search by commerical or residential - we're definitely adhering to the 2 click rule there. There's a movie download, and of course it's our first tri lingual website - there's the main Bachata Properties English language site, there's also a French language property site for our soeurs et freres on the "Continent". And for the many Spanish language speakers around the globe - and indeed in Dominican Republic itself, Bachata caters for them.

The Content Management System was developed by ourselves. We had a look at the off the shelf CMS for the real estate market and they were all a bit too complex for Bachata's needs. So we developed one that allows the team at Bachata to add and edit properties, manage contacts and administer the site.

A nice sunny project to blog about in January.
